ANTONELLA & ANDREA TIE THE KNOT IN MONACO THIS TIME – {PART TWO} // MONACO WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

So here we are again, Day two of “Andrea and Antonella get married everywhere that is awesome in the world“. You may remember the first instalment from these two a couple of months ago when I blogged a few piccy’s from their ceremony just over the border in a beautiful little 13th century church in Italy the night before. If you missed it you can have a look here. Below are a few images to refresh your memory. Sit down and have a good scroll through for Andrea and Antonella’s day 2 celebration in Monaco. I guess the “pinch myself moment” came when myself, Antonella and Andrea were whisked across the river to the reception location in a luxury speedboat, champagne spilling everywhere with the twilight city lights of Monaco city behind us. I really do love my Job. Once again, a huge thank you to Aga Maru for travelling across from Ireland to second shoot these amazing two days with me.

 {and this was where we last left Antonella and Andrea}

Let pick up from first thing the next morning, back across the border in Monaco. I hope you enjoy Day two of “Antonella and Andrea get married every that is awesome in the world”.

A FEW FRAMES WITH THE NEW PHASE / PHASE ONE IQ250 RELEASE

So a couple of months ago I had the huge honour of being contacted by Phase One Cameras, to be one of the first three photographers in the world to try out the new Phase One IQ250 medium format Digital system (released this week). So of course I said, “Yes, Phase One! I will happily take this camera off your hands and galavant around the country side with this beast and take pictures”. Medium format digital is next-level format for me so it was a pretty exciting experience.

It also allowed me to go to some of my favourite locations and use some industrial “man” equipment I have always wanted to use, like the cherry picker we rented to get the shot below! Man points. Nailed it. (Up next, mowing my front lawn with my shirt off while getting a tattoo on my neck)

I want to throw a huge shout out to my amazing couples who came along for the ride at the last minute, Marissa and Alex, founders of From The Owl and the amazing Brendan and Rose from A Bear, A Dear, and A Fox.

I’m excited to keep exploring this format as finally I can make prints bigger than my street!

Hope you enjoy the pics (and video below).

Click below video to see some of the behind the scenes from the 3 shoots responsible for the above frames!

Thanks, David

Jen and Luke light up the carriageworks, Sydney Australia

The amazing Luke and Jen… These guys are insane, designed everything themselves, Jen completely dominated her dress by design label LOVER  and they turned an empty warehouse space into one of the best venues I have seen. You can tell a lot about a couple by the people they surround themselves with. Getting to know some of the guests at this wedding and enjoying the incredibly heartfelt speeches, I was left with no doubt that I was dealing with some serious Grade A human beings. I hope you enjoy their story. – Also, a should out must go to the Ryoji Ikeda test pattern light installation that was being held at the Carraigeworks during the wedding. We couldn’t help but take a few moments to take a stroll over this amazing installation and collaborate to create a few unique portraits (scattered below). You can see more from this amazing wedding featured on HELLO MAY. Enjoy!

Lets take a step back about 4 hours

HELLO MAY AND DAN O’DAY TOGETHER ON THE COVER… WHAT A LOVELY DAY ? #SORRY

I’m really sorry about that blog title. I just felt like I wanted to tie Hello May and my name together, as they rhymed. I’m sure I will regret this decision as soon as I hit post. Either way, needless to say, Im as happy as Larry to have the cover of Hello May (this is horrible, it’s like I can’t stop myself).

Anyway, if you are still reading, thank you. Hello May is an amazing wedding publication (and blog) with a super amount of awesomeness amongst it’s spreads. When I was approached by the legendary founder of Hello May (Sophie) to feature Yvonne and Boruch’s wedding in the pages of the (now current) issue, I was very happy, and of course, impressed with her choice of this particular wedding. The reason being, this wedding was extremely high on emotion, energy, dirty black and whites, and general crazy, messy, beauty, food, song, style all over the walls, cloths, tables and doors. In my opinion, it was the perfect wedding. And thankfully Sophie saw the potential in this beautiful celebration as well. Then, when Sophie told me that our beautiful (barefoot) bride and (killer kicks) groom where a hot ticket for the cover, I played it pretty cool but I was secretly very excited.

If you would like to see the full blog post of Yvonne and Boruch’s amazing wedding day, click here.

Please support Hello May by heading over to check out the HELLO MAY BLOG HERE and the FACEBOOK PAGE HERE. This is a publication that I would love to see in stores for a long time to come. Pick up a copy at your local newsagent or online HERE.

Lisa - Total awesomeness…(even with the rhymes)! Congrats! Your photos are more than deserving of being published!

Antony Turner - What a unique publication, very stylish. Well done fella

Holmsie - You are the man, Dan. As always, so well done.

James - Nice work hombre.

Darryn - Awesome great work :)

Jaye Cole | Tux & Tales Photography - Dude, these are amazing!

HayleyLane - Great feature, looks awesome :)

PHASE ONESIES – A PHOTO ADVENTURE

Ok, so in the spirit of art, adventure (and procrastination). Myself and my good mate slash good photographer, Todd Hunter McGaw are setting out on a 5 day photo journey starting in Adelaide and finishing up in Melbourne Friday the 15th (Via Broken Hill). The aim of this mission was for us to take some time out of our busy wedding schedules to refuel our creative tanks and just focus on driving, chatting, making pictures, taking pictures, chatting, laughing (a lot) and then making more pictures.

So why call it “Phase Onesies a photo adventure” ? I’ll explain just underneath our logo (see below)

Well, because our good friends at Phase One Cameras heard about our little Thelma and Louise type road trip and have kindly offered to throw a couple of Medium Format Phase One digital camera’s at us to use and abuse for the next week. So that’s the Phase One element explained. Now for the Onsie element. Once it was confirmed that we would be using the Phase One camera’s we thought that it makes perfect sense to wear Onsies for our entire journey. Im going to be a Monkey and Toddy is a dinosaur (Obviously).

If you would like to keep up with our mischief while we are gallivanting around the australian outback you can follow our Instagram, Facebook and Tumblr feeds.

Also, keep track on Tumblr here.

Also, if you have any suggestions of places, towns, parks, deserts or highway’s we should explore we would love for you to leave some tips below! Game on moles, see you soon!

Mary (& The Joel) - Finally! So good to see you doing something that matters. I’m only partially joking as the ridiculous and personal things are of utmost important. Don’t get a coffee stain on them on the first day.

Heart.

Alan Woo - Sounds like an awesome trip guys. Enjoy the lil break from the weddings and have fun! I’m sure you will.

Bat - DOLL & BEAR MUSEUM IN BROKEN HILL. I may be shouting but I think the way you are dressed you will fit right in.
Travel safe!

BT - Dan Onesie Day – brilliant! Looking forward to seeing the Fotas ;) BT
